Recent Shell Island Resort Review: "This hotel was absolutely wonderful; the staff is very friendly and takes care of you!!! The only disappointment we had was that the hot tub didn't work the first night we were there-it just wasn't warm at all... the maintainance guy came and apparently fixed it right while we were there- we were just too busy to check on it later. The only other thing  was that the bed was a little more firm than mine at home, however my husband loved it... personal preferences i guess. I talked to Heidi at the front desk a few times on the phone prior to checking in, and at check-in meeting her, we felt like we were friends! Made us feel at home. Very wonderful set up in the hotel - and room service is ON IT!!! Leave your hotel with the sign "Room service now" and you come right back and its done! We had brought a personal blanket and they even went and folded it and layed it neatly on the couch. My curling iron cord was wrapped around the iron like I would have (if i wasn't in a rush) and my belongings nice and neat. I'm sure the food at the restaurant would be good but we never got it because we wouldn't eat ten dollars worth of breakfast in the morning.. The location of this resort is amazing because it is at the very end of Wrightsville beach which is the BEST part of the beach since it is so much quieter and and less traffic. On the beach there aren't many people being around because it is only people from the hotel basically since there's nothing on one side of the hotel... Thanks Shell Island Resort for a great trip and wonderful place for our 1st year anniversary!! We will be back!!!"
