Stayed for three nights and tried to book a fourth but it was sold out when tried to stay another day. Great location near the beach only a few minute walk we will stay again

The staff was very friendly, but the cleanliness of parking lot it was slack.The Microtel is In a decent location, albeit it is not on the beach, but the price per room was very competitive with surrounding hotels. I like the laid back atmosphere of Carolina Beach and would strongly encourage others to visit and enjoy!

Staff were all very nice and most helpful . Went way out of the way to accommodate and be helpful. Would most assuredly stay there again.

Having read several negative reviews I was a little apprehensive about staying at the Microtel in Carolina Beach. My husband and I were greeted by pleasant staff who offered advice on local restaurants. The room was fine, perhaps a lick of paint would improve its appearance though. I think the only other thing I would like to suggest is that the management  needs to visit Europe to see just what a continental breakfast actually is. Breakfast is offered in the form of cereals, bagels, waffles and muffins, you really do need to add fruit at least! Having said all that, we paid a fairly low rate, and all considered, it was completely adequate and I would return to this hotel.

Our stay at the hotel in Carolina Beach was very pleasant. It rained most of the time, so we had to find other things to do besides go to the beach and this hotel was close to several sights. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Room was very small and had a stale smell. Bedding was clean. TV was uncomfortable to watch. It was on top of wooden closet. I was not pleased with view (top of hotel roof). The price was too high for non ocean view or ocean front for off season. Internet svc. is dial up and did not work properly.

We enjoyed our winter night at the beach. Microtel was clean and comfortable, with pleasant staff and adequate continental breakfast. We had to change rooms at first, but only because the previous inhabitants had dismantled the smoke detector and lit up in the non-smoking room. We were quickly moved to more suitable accommodations with no issues. The  hotel was within walking distance of restaurants, beach and "boardwalk". I would stay there again, but might call before booking online in the off-season to check the best rate.

My husband Jim, my little girl and I stayed at the Microtel a few days ago. On the first night I was really happy to be there and a bit overexcited so I couldn't sleep! I went to the lobby on the first floor to work on the computer and check on the website for my new company.While doing this the night auditor Jean was awesome. She brought me milk from  the back to eat with some of the cereal used for the morning breakfast and when I asked her to, she looked over the new web site with me. She is very professional and extremely people oriented at the same time. She made sure our rate was correct as it had been a bit high from booking through a third party. I stayed there until my husband and daughter came to the lobby looking for me and finally I was able to go to sleep. Evert person from front desk clerks, Cassandra, and Mark whom we met, to the folks who brought extra towels and blankets to us and tidied our rooms, Cristy and Joe, to the general manager of the hotel, Bruce, were first rate in terms of Guest Service and kindness. The hotel is extremely clean and welcoming with all amenities one would expect in a far more costly hotel. The only thing missing was a giant flat screen TV. Who needs that anyway. We had a fine color TV with cable and a good selection of channels to choose from. As my 9 year old said, "MOM, you don't come to the beach to watch TV! You go to the Beach!" We enjoyed our stay and will book our reservations here again. I recommend the shoulder seasons such as late fall and early spring. The crowds are far less large, there's room to move, privacy on the beaches without being totally alone and the beach itself feels quieter and more calm. Bruce told us that he had taken over as the new General Manager less than 6 months ago and that he was doing everything in his power to re-build the reputation of the hotel that had apparently not been great under former management. I think that whoever hired Bruce should get an award and that Bruce and his staff
