Recent Blockade Runner Beach Review: "We are so glad we ignored the few bad reviews. We absolutely loved the Blockade Runner Resort. The staff was attentive and polite. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The ONLY complaint I have is that the bathroom linens were not stocked well. We had to call down for a sufficient amount of towels/washcloths. It wasn't an inconvenience to us, but we  didn't want to be the "difficult" guests. It is a beautiful resort of the old school. We usually vacation in OBX, however, Wrightsville Beach is only two hours away from Ft. Bragg. It is so easy to hop on I-40 from the base. A throwback to the long lost "southern hospitality." We had our toddler with us and love that the room had tile floors. She spilled cranberry juice and it was so easy to clean up rather than trying to clean carpet. Great hotel for singles, couples, or families. Also, several restaurants and a Wings w/in walking distance. If you don't like the selection on the island it is only a short drive (or walk) over the nridge in Wrightsville proper. WE ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THE BLOCKADE RUNNER RESORT!!!"
